2015 - IFF and PILSEN EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE 2015 PILSEN
In 2015, Pilsen carried the title European Capital of Culture and the International Folklore Festival CIOFF® Pilsen was proudly included in its rich cultural programme. The city of Pilsen opened itself to the world and the Pilsen folk festival was presented as one of the prestigious European folklore festivals carrying the designation of the world organization CIOFF® operating under UNESCO. During the 19th year of the festival, top performances of folklore ensembles from different parts of the world performed on several festival stages. At the same time, enough emphasis was given to adequate space provided for learning about various folklore traditions connected directly with Pilsen and its surroundings.
