2014 - PROGRAMME INNOVATION: STEAM TRAIN, DANCE IN THE STREET AND FOLKLORE STORYTELLERS
The year 2014 was rich in news in the festival programme. The main novelty was a joint trip to the small-scale folklore festival "Under the Vrcen Lime Tree" to the village of Vrcen by a specially prepared historical steam train with the locomotive carrying the name Slechticna (Noblewoman). The atmosphere within the individual carriages where music was played and songs were sung was simply unrepeatable. For the first time, festival visitors could actively join a public dance workshop directly in the street which was led by the members of both Czech and foreign folklore ensembles. Another novelty introduced by this year of the festival was incorporation of folklore storytellers into the festival programme. The best of Chodsko and Pilsen Region were introduced in the programme "Jokers and Tellers", as a guest a narrator from Uherske Hradiste performed too. The microphones of the Czech Radio Pilsen recorded both narrative art as well as distinctive dialects.
