2008 – AMONG THE STARS OF THE FESTIVAL WORLD

CIOFF® (Conseil International des Festivals de Folklore et d';Artes Traditionels) is a non-professional international non-governmental cultural organization. It is an international council of folklore festivals and folklore art organizers within UNESCO where it has a consultancy role. The membership in this organization is a prestigious event for all organizers of international folklore festivals around the world. Only top festivals achieving excellent levels of organization, dramaturgy and technical background can be granted full membership within the organization. And the International Folklore Festival Pilsen succeeded! The International Folklore Festival Pilsen was granted the full membership in CIOFF® on November 1, 2007 (during a council meeting in Mexico). Therefore, the 12th year of the festival in 2008 was the first time when the festival carried proudly its new name International Folklore Festival CIOFF® Pilsen.
