Mráček

The Mráček children';s ensemble was founded in Mrákov in 1989 and was led by Marie Johánková. Anna Bayerová and Jitka Růžková help her lead the ensemble. The founder is the Society of Friends of Dolní Chodsk, which also includes an adult ensemble. Several generations of dancers and singers have already taken turns in Mráček, and many of them - today, of course, adults - dance in the large Mráček troupe. The member base of Mráček consists of children aged 5-15 - the troupe is further divided into younger and older children. Mráček spreads the beauty of costumes, songs and dances of the Choda region. It has its own bagpipe music, which always gradually changes according to the age of the musicians.

Mráček occasionally performs at various cultural events. You can see him every year at the Chodské hyjta in Mrákov, at the Chodské slavnost in Domažlice. The bands that the children perform are focused on the customs and games of children in the Chodsk region and also relate to different seasons, e.g. Christmas in the Chodsk region, the May band. This year, she will introduce herself to you with the bands "Koníčková" and "musician Cecilka". The adjustments to the sheet music and bands come largely from the bagpiper and director of the Basic Art School in Domažlica, Josef Kuneš.

Mráček spectacularly celebrated the quarter century of its existence with its own event in Mrákov, to which it invited its current and former members. Ensembles could sing along with their children. The audience could thus see several musician families connected with the folklore of Mrákov. It can be seen that traditions are really maintained in Mrákov and the singing of Chod songs does not simply disappear here.
